My present employer is Islamic Relief Worldwide Bangladesh. In the past I worked for different employers. The employers I worked for were – UNDP Assisted Project under the Ministry of Social Welfare (GOB), Voluntary Health Services Society (VHSS), ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB), Centre for Development Services (CDS), Care Bangladesh, ACLAB, Gono Shahajjo Sangstha (GSS) etc. Before joining this organization, I had been in senior positions of different national and international organizations for more than 10 years.

Programme Officer-Development Programme
Responsibilities:
1) Support to projects under Development Programme in project design & development, programme arrangement, necessary approval, procurement, capacity building etc.
2) Attend activities at field level on behalf of Country Office.
3) Communication with donors of different projects.

Achievement:
1) Given responsibilities of Doulatdia site in addition to regular responsibilities of Jessore site and was successful in resolving management conflict. Work continued till project closure.
2) Establishment of partnership with Jessore Pourasava (Municipality) for improvement of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Facilities for sex workers of brothel at Jessore.
3) Establishment of partnership with Civil Surgeon’s Office, Jessore and arrangement of satellite health centers inside Jessore brothel for treatment of sex workers and their children attended by MOCS.
4) Formation of forum of NGOs that have activities for sex workers in brothel areas and success in prevention of human rights of sex workers.
5) Establishment of partnership with local administration offices (i.e. Dept. for Youth Development, Dept. of Social Services, Dept. of Women Affairs, Dept. of Family Planning, Bangladesh Small & Cottage Industries Corporation, Civil Surgeon’s Office, Deputy Commissioner’s Office etc.)
6) Participation of family members of sex workers’ in trainings organized by the Dept. of Youth Development, GOB and BSCIC.
7) Established working relationship with Care Bangladesh/Ad-Din Welfare Centre.
8) Increased contribution of Sex worker’s in project activities and initiation of a scheme titled ‘mother’s contribution’.
9) Active participation of local political leaders, religious leaders and elites in project activities and increased contribution.
10) Committees formed for project implementation at local levels (Jessore & Doulatdia) headed by the Deputy Commissioners incorporating officials from govt. depts., Pourasava (Municipal Corporation) Chairmen, police dept. and also the representatives of sex workers. Meetings of this committee at 2 sites were held on regular basis.
11) A total of 59 children of sex workers were admitted to different govt. schools.
12) A total of 14 sex workers were rehabilitated under scheme titled “Resettlement Investment Fund-RIF”. These sex workers left brothel and never returned to their old profession.
